Commemoration of All The Faithful Departed
(All Souls’ Day)
(Paggunita sa Lahat ng Mga Pumanaw na Kristyano)

Liturgical Color: Purple or White

Short catechesis:

Please note that strictly speaking, this day is neither a solemnity nor a feast.

But this year, pumatak ang Nov 2 sa weekday (Wednesday). The Gloria is not mandatory for weekday commemorations of AllSouls Day.

Readings:

1R: Wisdom 3:1-9. The souls of the just are well and comfortable. Initially they will appear to be suffering, but this is superficial. In time they shall be greatly blessed, for God found them to be worthy to be with Him.

RP: The famous Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want.

G: The Judgment of the Nations: the story about the "sheep" being placed at God's right; the "goats" on His left. Then, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and gave You drink?"... "What you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for Me." And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Solemnity of All Saints
(Dakilang Kapistahan ng Lahat ng Mga Banal)

Liturgical Color: White

Short catechesis:

The Eight Beatitudes:

1. The poor in spirit who are truly blessed, those who are radically dependent on God’s grace and guidance, those who are humble.

2. Those who both mourn and are truly blessed are those who, in spite of their own sufferings, still help and comfort others.

3. The meek and blessed at once, i.e., at the same time, are those who bear reproaches, slights and criticisms with moderation. They do not embark on revenge. They do not get angry easily and are free from bitterness. In short their spirit is tranquil and stable.

4. Those who both are (1) blessed and (2) hunger and thirst for justice are those persons who devote thier lives to attain the vindication of what is right, here and now!

5. Those who are both (1) blessed and (2) merciful are not only those who show pity for someone in trouble. Instead being both blessed and merciful is manifested by how one concretely works for the alleviation of the sufferings of another.

6. To be blessed and at the same time pure of heart is to center one’s life on God in and
through one’s concern for others.

7. A truly blessed peacemaker is one who pits himself against all the obstacles to attaining true peace, even if it may cost him his own safety, and if need be, his own life.

8. Persecution for true righteousness is blessed, for this is righteousness for Christ. A suffering born of love and commitment is a suffering which is truly united with the suffering of the Crucified Christ. Such suffering is salvific and redemptive of others.

RP: 24 Lord, this is the people that long to see Your Face.

31st Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year A
Prison Awareness Sunday

Liturgical Color: Green

This Sunday, ang ating mga readings especially the Gospel, tackles about the teachings of the Pharisees.

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year A
World Mission Sunday

Liturgical Color : Green

It’s a violent reaction. Pero pagkacomment ko ano may comment agad. And she says: “Have mercy to them, kasi hindi naman nila alam ang kanilang ginagawa.

Una ang “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” At ang pangalawa “love your neighbour as yourself.”
