First Reading                                          Dn 7:13-14
As the visions during the night continued, I saw
one like a Son of man coming,
on the clouds of heaven;
when he reached the Ancient One
and was presented before him,
the one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and kingship;
all peoples, nations, and languages serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that shall not be taken away,
his kingship shall not be destroyed.
Responsorial Psalm                                     Ps 93:1, 1-2, 5
R. (1a) The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
The LORD is king, in splendor robed;
robed is the LORD and girt about with strength.
R. The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
And he has made the world firm,
not to be moved.
Your throne stands firm from of old;
from everlasting you are, O LORD.
R. The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
Your decrees are worthy of trust indeed;
holiness befits your house,
O LORD, for length of days.
R. The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
Second Reading                                        Rv 1:5-8
Jesus Christ is the faithful witness,
the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father,
to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Behold, he is coming amid the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will lament him.
Yes. Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God,
"the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty."
Gospel Jn 18:33b-37
Pilate said to Jesus,
"Are you the King of the Jews?"
Jesus answered, "Do you say this on your own
or have others told you about me?"
Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I?
Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me.
What have you done?"
Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this world.
If my kingdom did belong to this world,
my attendants would be fighting
to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.
But as it is, my kingdom is not here."
So Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?"
Jesus answered, "You say I am a king.
For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice."

Homily/Reflection of the Readings (November 25, 2012)
Good morning everyone! Welcome to all the members of our faith community and the visitors who have joined us today to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King.

Today's Feast is a very special one. Although Christ has always been recognized as the King of kings, it was not until Pope Pius XI instituted the Feast of "Christ the King" in 1925 that it finally receive official recognition in the Holy Catholic Church. In other words, it has only been nearly 80 years since Catholics have been meeting annually to officially recognize Christ as King.

This is very important because the last time that God was officially recognized as King among the people was 3,046 years ago, or 2,971 years before the institution of this special Feast. For nearly 3,000 years, the world did not "officially" recognize God as its King.

Some of you may wonder what happened 3,046 years ago. At that time, God's people approached Samuel and asked him to appoint a king over them. [1 Sam. 8:3, 5] The people wanted a king like the surrounding pagan nations so they would have someone to lead them during their battles. This greatly offended God who knew the hearts of the people, that they were rejecting Him as King over them. [1 Sam. 8:7] And so it was, in 1043 B.C., Saul was anointed as the king of God's people.

The injustice that was done to God was finally corrected 78 years ago when the Lord Jesus, in who the fullness of God was pleased to dwell bodily, [Col. 1:19, 2:9] was 'officially' reinstated as the rightful King of the Catholic Church.

Now that Christ the King has been officially elevated to His rightful position above all His creation, one may wonder, where is His Kingdom?

Speaking to His followers, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see that the Kingdom of God has come with power." [Mk. 9:1] Speaking to Nathanael, Jesus said, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man." [Jn. 1:51] Based on the Sacred Words of Jesus that are perfect truth, the Kingdom of God arrived during the first century.

In the Acts of the Apostles, we read that after Jesus resurrected and appeared to His disciples, "He ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the promise of the Father." [Acts 1:4] The disciples were to await the arrival of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem on Pentecost Day. There are every indication in the Holy Scriptures that this moment is when the New Jerusalem, the Kingdom of God officially descended on earth.

In the Book of Revelation, John says, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God, they will be his people, and God himself will be with them.'" [Rev. 21:1-3]

This particular passage is not a reference to the future, but rather to the past. Why? Because of the reference of God dwelling among His people. Who dwells in the Blessed Tabernacle in every Catholic Church around the world? Christ the King! Who do we receive during the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist? Christ the King! God is now dwelling among His people as the rightful King. His Kingdom has arrived on earth as promised.

Another proof that the aforementioned passage is of the past is from the passage that is found in today's Second Reading. It says, "Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will lament. So it is to be. Amen." Every eye will see Him, even THOSE WHO PIERCED HIM. Those who pierced Christ the King are the Roman soldiers who crucified Him! Surely, this cannot be a reference to the future as some allege regarding the Second Coming and the future Kingdom of God.

While some await for a false hope, a visible Kingdom of God on earth, Jesus never said that His Kingdom would be visible. He said, "The Kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There it is!' For, in fact, the Kingdom of God is among you." [Lk. 17:20-1] The Kingdom of God cannot be observed! It cannot be seen! It is invisible because it is of the spiritual world that coexists with our world.

During today's Gospel Reading, we heard Jesus say, "My kingdom is not from this world." [Jn. 18:36]

My brothers and sisters in Christ, if we await a false hope, the Second Coming of Christ to rule on earth for 1,000 years as some believe, or if we await for the physical descent of the Kingdom of God on earth, how can we truly appreciate the mystery of the Mystical Body of Christ when through such belief we are clearly rejecting the physical presence of God and His Kingdom on earth? With such a belief, are we not counting ourselves among our separated brothers and sisters who are awaiting a false hope?

Christ the King is here today with us! His Kingdom has arrived and we as baptized children have received our new creation of the godly seed, [1 Jn. 3:9] this gift making us members of the Kingdom of God on earth. Through our new creation, we are now able to worship God in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship Him. [Jn. 4:23-4]

During today's First Reading, we heard, "To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all people, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed." [Dan. 7:14]

The present Kingdom of God on earth, spiritual in nature, invisible to the naked eye, is one that shall never be destroyed. The dominion of Christ the King is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away.

During the coming week, let us assess our beliefs. Are they in harmony with the teachings of Jesus? Are they based on sound Catholic doctrine that has been handed down by apostolic succession? Are they based on Biblical truths? Are we wholeheartedly partaking in the spiritual Kingdom of God on earth through our Baptism as we should be? Are we accepting with inner joy and peace that Christ the King is presently ruling over us? Or are we looking for a false Christ and a false Kingdom? Many are being deceived and their deception is hurting the Body of Christ. As living stones, we must support one another, correct one another if we err from the truth, and be united in one Lord, one truth, one baptism, one Christ, one Spirit and one Holy Catholic Church. May the grace of God be with you this week.

First Reading                                  Dn 12:1-3
In those days, I Daniel,
heard this word of the Lord:
"At that time there shall arise
Michael, the great prince,
guardian of your people;
it shall be a time unsurpassed in distress
since nations began until that time.
At that time your people shall escape,
everyone who is found written in the book.

"Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake;
some shall live forever,
others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace.

"But the wise shall shine brightly
like the splendor of the firmament,
and those who lead the many to justice
shall be like the stars forever."
Responsorial Psalm                                     Ps 16:5, 8, 9-10, 11
R. (1) You are my inheritance, O Lord!
O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup,
you it is who hold fast my lot.
I set the LORD ever before me;
with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.
R.
You are my inheritance, O Lord!
Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices,
my body, too, abides in confidence;
because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld,
nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption.
R.
You are my inheritance, O Lord!
You will show me the path to life,
fullness of joys in your presence,
the delights at your right hand forever.
R.
You are my inheritance, O Lord!
Second Reading                        Heb 10:11-14, 18
Brothers and sisters:
Every priest stands daily at his ministry,
offering frequently those same sacrifices
that can never take away sins.
But this one offered one sacrifice for sins,
and took his seat forever at the right hand of God;
now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool.
For by one offering
he has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated.

Where there is forgiveness of these,
there is no longer offering for sin.
GOSPEL                                        Mk 13:24-32
Jesus said to his disciples:
"In those days after that tribulation
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

"And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds'
with great power and glory,
and then he will send out the angels
and gather his elect from the four winds,
from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.

"Learn a lesson from the fig tree.
When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves,
you know that summer is near.
In the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that he is near, at the gates.
Amen, I say to you,
this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows,
neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Homily/Reflection (Nov. 18 Readings)
My brothers and sisters in Christ, may the Spirit of God richly enlighten your mind today with spiritual understanding so that you may perceive the fullness of the Scriptures that we have just heard.

Today's readings made reference to terrible things, a time of anguish such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But that is the time when the people shall be delivered. It speaks of a time of suffering, the sun being darkened, the moon not giving its light, the stars falling from heaven, and the powers of Heaven being shaken. It will be a time when Heaven and earth will pass away.

A few years ago, I came across a book that alleged private revelations of the Blessed Virgin Mary to a person who lives in Italy. The private revelation found in that book alleged the following:
"I confirm to you that, by the great jubilee of the year two thousand, there will take place the triumph of my Immaculate Heart, which I foretold to you at Fatima, and this will come to pass with the return of Jesus in glory, to establish his reign in the world. Thus you will at last be able to see with your own eyes the new heaven and the new earth."
Year 2,000, the year of the Jubilee came to pass three years ago. Thousands and thousands of believers from around the world, having placed their hope in such alleged private revelations, awaited for the glorious return of Jesus Christ to physically reign in the world, over and above the transformation of all creation, the new heaven and the new earth. After years of private revelations and alleged prophecies, many felt relief in knowing that the moment was finally arriving. They felt relief that the world as we presently know it, was coming to an end. They believed this would be the end of evil, the end of the battle between good and evil.

It does not matter where you turn today, many seers are predicting the glorious Second Coming of Christ, the new heaven and the new earth. The false seer of the aforementioned alleged prophecies was not the only one misguided soul.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I have a big problem with this kind of alleged heavenly messages ! You see, Jesus said something in Matthew 24:34, Mark 13:30 and Luke 21:32 regarding the time of those events. No one seems to pay attention to what Jesus said. Let me read it to you.
Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." [Mt. 24:34; Mk. 13:30; Lk. 21:32]
Once more, I repeat the words of Jesus, "TRULY, I TELL YOU THIS GENERATION WILL NOT PASS AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS HAVE TAKEN PLACE."

Now, I have a problem with this! Did Jesus lie? Or are these doomsday seers false prophets who seek to confuse and divide the faithful? I say divide because Catholics are divided when it comes to believing in false seers, some blindly believing in them, others rejecting them. Did the prophecies of Jesus already come to pass as prophesied?"

Let us review the facts for a moment. What are these stars that are falling from Heaven? What does it mean that the powers in the heavens will be shaken? The Book of Revelation tells us,
"And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world - he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." [Rev. 12:7-9]
Just before that in the Book of Revelation, we read,
"Then another portent appeared in Heaven: a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth." [Rev. 12:3-4] In the Gospel of Luke, when the seventy disciples returned from their mission, Jesus said, "I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning."
You see my brothers and sisters, Jesus was speaking symbolically. When He spoke of stars, He was referring to the fallen angels and making reference to their being cast out of Heaven.

Through the death of Christ and His glorious Resurrection, the Lord Jesus overcame sin and the world. He regained His rightful Throne that had been taken from Him by Satan when sin entered the world. Through the sacrifice of the Blood of Christ, "the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God." [Rev. 12:10b] Satan can no longer accuse us of our sins because by the Blood of Christ, through faith in Jesus, the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of Confession, our sins are forgiven forever. The grip that Satan had on men has been broken by the Blood of Christ.

Now, you may ask, "What about the new Heaven and the new earth?" There is a new Heaven since Jesus has died on the Holy Cross and was taken to Heaven where He now sits on the Eternal Throne. Satan and his fallen angels have been casted out of Heaven. Heaven is not the same anymore. It has been cleansed of the fallen angels and now Jesus sits as the rightful King of the eternal Kingdom of God.

As to the new earth, the Acts of the Apostles tells us, "Jesus ordered them (His disciples) not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the promise of the Father." [Acts 1:4] "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." [Acts 1:8] And as we all know, the Apostles received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Day, that day being the beginning of the invisible Kingdom of God on earth. Since that day, the earth has never been the same. Everytime someone is baptized by water and Spirit in the Most Holy Name of the Trinity, he receives the promised new creation and becomes a member of the Body of Christ, the invisible Kingdom of God on earth.

Considering the fact that before the days of Jesus, no one except the Blessed Virgin Mary who was born without sin, had become new creations, then all were called to spiritually die because sin was in the world. But now, those who are baptized through faith in Christ, as adopted members of the Body of Christ, they qualify to inherit the Kingdom of God. They have overcome spiritual death. They belong to the Kingdom of God on earth, the new earth that has been transformed by the Blood of Christ.

So we know that the stars have fallen from Heaven, that there is a new Heaven and a new earth because the Holy Scriptures tells us so. This confirms that Jesus never lied. When He said all those things would happen in the present generation, in His days, it all happened within weeks after He died on the Holy Cross, at which time the generation of His days was still living.

Today's First Reading from the Book of Daniel predicted the coming of all those events. Now some will say, "Well, what about the words of Daniel where it says many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. That resurrection has never happened." My brothers and sisters, those who think that way are wrong again. Read the Holy Bible!

The Gospel of Matthew tells us that when Jesus breathed His last, "At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were splits. The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. After his resurrection they came out of the tombs and entered the holy city and appeared to many." [Mt. 27:51-3] In the days of Jesus, a large number of the saints resurrected as promised!

Everything that we find prophesied in the Gospels, especially those prophecies found in Chapter 24 of the Gospel of Matthew, have come to pass. While there are hundreds of false prophets out there who claim that these things are coming at a future date to confuse and divide you, as sad as it is to say, they have been deceived, have become liars and the father of liars is Satan. By pursuing their falsehoods, they have become children of Satan, doing Satan's work. Because they have neglected to prayerfully read the Holy Scripture under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, fame and money has led them to fabricate falsehoods to deceive the faithful.

My brothers and sisters, these lies have been going on since the days of the early Church. They have been more visible during the last 25 years because of improved technology in communication. But the fact remains, Satan is working hard to confuse and divide everybody in order to lead them away from the truth. Satan is working hard to have you believe that Jesus is returning to establish a worldly Kingdom of earth. These are all lies. The Kingdom of God is invisible. It is a spiritual Kingdom. It is already here and you are a member of that Kingdom through your Baptism.

The time has come to put an end to the present day's greatest deception that has infiltrated the Catholic Church. How long must we tolerate the circulating of the deceptions of false seers, not only in the public, but also in our Churches?

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the discerning of the spirits is not so hard. As a general rule, the alleged heavenly messages of false seers are usually full of errors. Allow me a few moments to quote such errors that are presently circulating in the Catholic Church.

An alleged seer wrote, "the time will come when you will be the only light left burning." In other words, all of us, you, me, the Pope, the Cardinals, the Bishops, the priests, all those who are not followers of this alleged seer, they will lose faith. The followers of the alleged seer will be the only light left in the world! This is Satan speaking! This is not the Blessed Virgin Mary that I know.

In another instance, it was alleged that the Blessed Virgin Mary would come down from Heaven to place herself as the head of the followers of the alleged seer. Do you really believe for one moment that Mary will take physical form and lead a physical army to destroy Satan who has a spiritual body? Not only is this an impossibility, it is an abomination!

The aforementioned alleged seer also stated that through his followers, the Holy Spirit would speak, and by means of the Spirit making use of them, the whole world would be completely renewed. What does that mean? Is that not saying that all the other priests, the deacons, the seminarians, the sisters and the faithful have all fallen from the grace of God and are in need of a renewal?

In these false prophecies, it was also alleged that Our Lady said twice, in 1988 and in 1989, that all her promises given to this seer would come to pass by 1998. Did any of those prophecies come to pass? No my brothers and sisters in Christ. Nothing happened! Did Our Lady lie when she made promises during the Church approved apparitions such as Fatima or Lourdes? Certainly not! Because the apparitions at Fatima and Lourdes were genuine. Has Our Lady suddenly become a liar? Certainly not! The only conclusion is that it is not Our Lady who was speaking through this alleged seer, but rather, Satan himself!

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I can go on and on with the many lies that are being promoted within the Holy Catholic Church by those who have fallen from the grace of God. Did you know that there are some who claim that you no longer need Jesus. You only have to call upon God the Father once in your lifetime and you will be saved. Again, this is Satan's work to redirect you towards falsehoods so you will lose your salvation in Christ.

Since very few Catholics are speaking out against these falsehoods because they do not want to offend misled clerical and lay members of the Church, you have an obligation before God to secure your salvation. You have an obligation to follow the sound teachings of the Holy Catholic Church. You have an obligation to reject these false prophets and their deceptive lies. You have an obligation to read and study the Holy Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church so you will be informed of the one and only truth.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, Jesus said, "Truly, I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place." Now you must decide! Who do you believe? You cannot serve two masters! Do you believe your Lord Jesus or the false prophets? If you believe Jesus, then destroy all what you possess that contains lies for the only purpose of destroying your soul! May the grace of God be with you as you choose and act accordingly. Your salvation depends on it!
