First Reading: Isaiah 56:1, 6-7.

Salvation is near, says God. The triumph is soon. God told those who used to be foreigners and are now faithfully serving Him that He will bring them to His mountain, and give them joy. All nations shall be included in His Kingdom.

Gospel: Matthew 15:21-28.

A Canaanite woman, a Gentile, a foreigner, tells Jesus that her daughter is bedemoned. The disciples were irritated with her, but she persisted. Jesus admires her faith, and her daughter was healed. 

Important Concept: the universality of salvation; God does not save only the Jews; He saves everyone.
