Christ the King Sunday - Year B - November 24, 2024

Thanks for your love and support.

The Solemnity of Christ the King Year B reminds us of the kingship of Jesus and His authority over all. This feast invites us to reflect on Jesus’ role as our leader and savior. These are our theme for you to consider also what songs you need to add to your line-up:

  • Jesus as King: Jesus is the King who has all power and authority, as shown in Daniel 7:13-14. He rules over all nations and people forever.
  • Eternal Kingdom: Jesus’ kingdom is eternal, unlike earthly kingdoms. Revelation 1:5-8 tells us His rule will never end.
  • Truth of Jesus: Jesus came to bear witness to the truth, as He says in John 18:33B-37. His truth guides us and sets us free.
  • Jesus’ Sacrifice: Jesus, the faithful witness, loves us and freed us from sin by His blood (Revelation 1:5). His sacrifice shows His kingship through service.
  • Hope in Christ: The readings give us hope in Christ’s ultimate victory. His kingdom brings peace and justice.
  • Universal Reign: Jesus’ reign is for everyone, as seen in Daniel 7:14. His kingdom includes all people, nations, and languages.
  • Christ’s Witness: Jesus’ role as a witness to the truth is central in John 18:37. This shows His authority and purpose.
Reflecting on these themes helps us understand Jesus’ kingship and its importance in our lives. The Solemnity of Christ the King Year B calls us to recognize and honor Jesus as our King and Savior.

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - November 10, 2024

 Thanks for visiting our blog.
The 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B features readings that emphasize faith, sacrifice, and trust in God. These themes help us reflect on our relationship with God and others. From these themes below, you can create your own line-up of songs if you are familiar with the majority of songs of our church.
  • Trust in God’s plan: In 1 Kings 17:10-16, the widow trusts Elijah’s word from God and is blessed with food. This shows that trusting God’s plan brings blessings.
  • Generosity in poverty: The widow in Mark 12:38-44 gives all she has. Her generosity shows that true giving comes from the heart, not from excess.
  • Sacrifice: Hebrews 9:24-28 speaks about Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus’ offering of himself is the ultimate act of love and service.
  • Humility: Jesus criticizes the scribes in Mark 12:38-44 for their pride. Humility is important in our relationship with God and others.
  • Faith in God’s promises: The widow in 1 Kings 17:10-16 acts on faith. Believing in God’s promises leads to unexpected blessings.
  • Jesus as the mediator: Hebrews 9:24-28 describes Jesus as the mediator between God and humanity. This emphasizes the importance of Jesus in our salvation.
  • True wealth: The story of the widow’s mite in Mark 12:38-44 shows that true wealth is not measured by money. It’s about giving and trusting in God.
  • Obedience to God: Elijah asks the widow to make bread in 1 Kings 17:10-16, and she obeys. Her obedience leads to God providing for her needs.

31st Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - November 3, 2024

Pasensya kung natagalan at nabusy sa school. Ang tema na nasa baba ay pwede po ninyong maging basehan upang makagawa kayo ng inyong sariling line-up ng kanta sa darating na linggo. You can practice also the songs of Hangad that I posted through a youtube video link. They are good and liturgical kasi alam kong may iba dito na belong sa mga parish na ang mga Parish priests are very sensitive in terms of songs kung liturgical ba talaga o hindi.

On the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, we reflect on key teachings from Deuteronomy, Hebrews, and the Gospel of Mark. These readings guide us in understanding love, obedience, and Jesus’ eternal priesthood.
  • Love of God: In Deuteronomy, we are commanded to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. This shows the importance of putting God first in our lives.
  • Obedience to Commandments: Deuteronomy also calls us to keep God’s commandments. Obeying these commandments brings us closer to God and guides our actions.
  • Jesus’ Eternal Priesthood: Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus is our eternal high priest. His priesthood is perfect and unchanging, unlike the priests of the old covenant.
  • Perfect Sacrifice: Jesus offers himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. This sacrifice is once and for all, showing his great love and mercy.
  • Greatest Commandments: In Mark, Jesus teaches that the greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbor. These two commandments summarize the entire law and the prophets.
  • Unity of Love and Law: Jesus’ teaching in Mark unites love and law. True love for God naturally leads to loving others and keeping God’s commandments.

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - October 13, 2024

The 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B readings focus on the wisdom of God and the challenge of following Jesus. The messages encourage believers to seek God’s wisdom and prioritize spiritual wealth over material wealth.
  • Value of Wisdom: The first reading shows how King Solomon prayed for wisdom and valued it above all riches. This teaches us to seek God’s wisdom, which is more precious than any material wealth.
  • Living Word of God: The second reading from Hebrews reminds us that God’s word is alive and powerful. It can judge our thoughts and desires, urging us to live according to God’s teachings.
  • Detachment from Riches: In the Gospel, Jesus tells the rich young man to sell all he has and follow Him. This shows the challenge of letting go of earthly possessions to fully commit to Jesus.
  • Following Jesus: Jesus’ call to the rich young man is a reminder for all of us to follow Him without reservation. It emphasizes the importance of prioritizing our relationship with Jesus over anything else.
  • Eternal Life: The rich young man asks Jesus how to inherit eternal life. Jesus’ response teaches that eternal life is a gift from God that requires faith and dedication to His commandments.
  • God’s Impossible Made Possible: Jesus tells His disciples that it is hard for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God, but nothing is impossible with God. This reassures us that God can help us overcome any obstacles in our spiritual journey.

26th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - September 29, 2024

On the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, the readings highlight important lessons about community, wealth, and moral conduct. We see how God’s spirit works in unexpected ways and how serious the call to righteousness is.

  • God’s Spirit is Free: In Numbers, God’s spirit rests on two men who were not in the meeting. This shows that God can choose anyone to share His message.
  • Warning Against Wealth: James warns the rich about the misuse of wealth. Wealth should be used to help others, not just for personal gain.
  • Inclusive Ministry: In the Gospel, Jesus says anyone who does good in His name is part of His mission. This teaches us to be open and inclusive.
  • Avoiding Sin: Jesus warns about the seriousness of sin. He uses strong language to show how important it is to avoid sin at all costs.
  • Helping the Needy: James speaks against those who hoard wealth while others suffer. Helping those in need is a key part of living our faith.
  • Recognizing Others’ Good Works: The disciples try to stop someone casting out demons in Jesus’ name. Jesus teaches them to recognize and support good works done by others.

These themes for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B remind us to be open to God’s spirit in unexpected ways and to live justly. They call us to avoid sin, help others, and recognize good works.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - September 22, 2024

When you ask for a line-up of songs for Sunday Mass, please be polite and courteous.

On the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, we reflect on themes of humility, service, and the Christian life. The readings guide us to consider how we live out our faith in practical ways.
  • True Wisdom: The first reading shows the difference between earthly and heavenly wisdom. Earthly wisdom brings envy and selfish ambition, while heavenly wisdom brings peace and righteousness.
  • Humility in Service: Jesus teaches the disciples about greatness through serving others. He places a child before them, showing that serving the least among us is the path to true greatness.
  • Righteous Suffering: The first reading from Wisdom highlights how the righteous suffer at the hands of the wicked. It reminds us that following God may bring trials, but we must stay faithful.
  • Peaceful Living: The second reading from James calls for peace and purity. It warns against jealousy and selfishness, urging us to seek peace and good deeds.
  • Childlike Faith: Jesus’ example of welcoming a child teaches us about humility and trust. We are called to have faith like children, trusting God completely and welcoming others with love.
  • Selfless Love: The Gospel challenges us to put others first. By serving and loving others selflessly, we follow Christ’s example and live out our faith.
  • Avoiding Conflicts: James explains that conflicts come from selfish desires. By submitting to God and seeking His wisdom, we can avoid unnecessary strife and live in harmony.
These themes for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B encourage us to live humbly and serve others, reflecting Christ’s love in our actions. As we reflect on these readings, let us commit to living out these values in our daily lives.
