Feast of the Holy Family - Year A - December 28, 2025

NAMAMASKO PO… BAKA NAMAN MERON PANG SOBRA DYAN 😊

The Feast of The Holy Family Year A celebrates the love and unity found in the family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. It invites reflection on family life and the values that strengthen these bonds.

  • Honor and Respect in Families: The first reading emphasizes honoring parents, showing that respect within families brings blessings and strengthens relationships. Caring for parents, especially in their old age, is a way to live out God’s commandment.
  • Love and Kindness at Home: The second reading from Colossians calls for compassion, kindness, and patience within families. These virtues build harmony and reflect Christ’s love in daily life.
  • Forgiveness and Peace: Families are encouraged to forgive one another and live in peace. This echoes the call to let Christ’s peace rule in hearts, fostering unity and understanding.
  • Obedience and Guidance: Joseph’s obedience to God’s guidance in the Gospel shows the importance of trusting God’s plan for the family. His example of leadership and protection inspires responsible and loving parenthood.
  • Faith and Trust in God: The Holy Family’s journey to Egypt demonstrates faith and trust in God’s protection during hardships. Families are reminded to rely on God during difficult times.
  • Role of Parents and Children: The readings highlight the roles of parents as caregivers and teachers, and children as respectful and obedient. These roles support a nurturing and loving home environment.

The Feast of The Holy Family Year A invites reflection on the values that create strong and loving families. By looking to the Holy Family as a model, families can find guidance and inspiration to live in love, faith, and unity.

3rd Sunday of Advent - Year A - December 14, 2025

Thank you for the love and support. Namamasko po. Pandagdag ipon to buy a new gadget. Nalunod kasi sa baha last Bagyong Tino. AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS LINE-UP, I WILL PROVIDE THE LINKS FOR SIMBANG GABI AND MISA DE GALLO SUGGESTED SONGS.
Gaudete Sunday, the 3rd Sunday of Advent Year A, is a time of joyful anticipation. The readings focus on hope, patience, and recognizing God’s presence among us.
  • Joy in God’s Promise: The readings show that God’s promise brings joy. Isaiah speaks of the desert blooming, and Jesus points to His works as signs of God’s presence.
  • Patience in Waiting: James calls for patience as we wait for the Lord. Like a farmer waiting for crops, we must trust that God’s timing is perfect.
  • Hope for Healing: Isaiah promises healing for the blind, the deaf, and the lame. Jesus’ miracles in the Gospel show that He fulfills this promise.
  • The Lord is Near: The nearness of God brings hope. Jesus reminds John’s disciples that He is the one they are waiting for.
  • Signs of the Messiah: Jesus points to His works as signs of the Messiah. The miracles He performs fulfill the prophecies in Isaiah.
  • Encouragement in Trials: James encourages us to stay strong through challenges. Like the prophets, we are called to endure with hope and patience.
Gaudete Sunday reminds us that our waiting is filled with joy and hope. As we prepare for Christ’s coming, we trust in God’s promises and His perfect timing.

ENTRANCE:
1.       Ayaw Paglangan Ginoo - swak for the theme since we're still waiting for HIS coming
2.       Umanhi Ka, Ayaw Paglangan - can be found in Ad-5 in old Cebuano Songbook or page 170 in GKK Songbook.
3.       Balang Araw ( Borres, Francisco ) this is only a suggestion. Try to change the " Narito na ang Manunubos, Luwalhatiin ang Dios" into " Darating na ang Manunubos, luwalhatiin ang Dios."
4.       Ang Puso Ko’y Nagpupuri (“Nagagalak ang aking Espiritu”) Clear this first. I do not believe this is an exclusively Marian song. It’s also about rejoicing.
5.        Purihi’t Pasalamatan (Esteban & Hontiveros) “sa masyang awit”
6.       Save us O Lord (Dufford) I acknowledge this is Lenten, pero yung message niya okay na okay kay kumpareng John the Baptist.
7.       Play Before the Lord (Dufford) “Stand among His people here, telling of all His ways” can be interpreted to be so St. John the Baptist
8.       I Rejoiced (Foley)

For Advent, there should no Gloria. Omit Gloria except for the mass at dawn.

READINGS:
  • First Reading – Isaiah 35:1-6A, 10: The desert will bloom and rejoice. God will strengthen the weak and bring justice. The blind will see, the deaf will hear, and the saved will enter Zion with joy.
  • Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 146:  Lord, come and save us/ Alleluia
  • The Lord is faithful, brings justice, feeds the hungry, frees captives, and gives sight to the blind. He supports the fatherless and widows, and reigns forever.
  • Second Reading – James 5:7-10: Be patient for the Lord’s coming, like a farmer waiting for crops. Strengthen your hearts, avoid complaining, and follow the example of patient prophets.
  • Gospel – Matthew 11:2-11: John the Baptist sent his disciples to ask Jesus if he was the one to come. Jesus affirmed his works. He praised John as the greatest prophet, yet less than the least in heaven.

OFFERTORY:
1.       Andama ang Dalan
2.       Nagahalad Kami
3.       Diyutay Lang Kini
4.       Ang Tanging Alay Ko
Prioritize Stanza 3. One reinforces the more common message of Advent even more when in Stanza 3 this is sung: “Aking hinihintay ang ‘Yong pagdarating, Jesus” rather than “pagbabalik, Jesus.” Nevertheless, pagbabalik can certainly remain, as again this season also has an eschatological
notion.
5.       Panalangin sa Pagiging Bukas Palad (Arboleda & Francisco)
6.       Panalangin Maging Bukas Palad (Rodrigo & Ramirez)
7.       Prayer for Generosity (Arboleda) “To give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the
wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and ask not for reward” is so John the Baptist.
8.       Dwelling Place (“May Christ find a dwelling place in our hearts”) (Foley)

COMMUNION:
1.          Andama ang Dalan (Ad-2)
2.          Panahon Na (F-14)
3.          Awit ng Paghahangad (Cenzon) “Magagalak na aawit”
4.          Liwanag ng Aming Puso: Lentish but (“...sa amin manahan Ka...”)
5.          Pananatili (“yayakapain ang landasin...Mo” is again terno sa G No. 3)
6.          Empty Space (Foley) “So You may one day see my face” pero some consider this for the Sacred Heart mas apt. Bagaman mas nauugnay ito sa Kabanal-banalang Puso, this is taking it one step further: If we are anticipative and waiting so much, we might as well wait for the right One. Besides, this song could even help in increasing the longing. My own opinion lang ang last sentence; I’d love it if you’d
disagree para natu3 tayo lahat thru exchange of reasonable reasons. Ang panget ng English ko, but
you get what I mean.
7. In Him Alone
8. God of Silence (Francisco)
9. Holy Darkness “As we await You” pero some consider this for the Easter Vigil mas apt.
11. One Thing I Ask (Tirol)
12. This Alone (Manion)
13. One More Gift (Francisco)
14. Prayer of Saint Francis (Temple)

    RECESSIONAL:
1.       Umanhi Ka Mesiyas (Ad-3)
2.       Ang Tawag sa Panahon
3.       Tanda ng Kaharian ng Diyos (Morano & Francisco)
4.       Awit ng Pasasalamat (Hontiveros) “Tayo’y magagalak”
5.       A Time Will Come for Singing (Schutte)
6.       Wait for the Lord
7.       Life Forever More (Ellerton & Francisco)
8.       The Lord is my Light. Prioritize Stanza 2: “Your face, Lord, I seek.”

Solemnity of Christ the King - Year C - November 23, 2025

Sorry at late uli. Wala na kasi kaming gadget na magagamit at nakikigamit lang.

The Solemnity of Christ the King Year C reminds us that Jesus is our true King. His kingdom is different from earthly kingdoms because it is built on love, mercy, and sacrifice.
  • Jesus as King: Jesus is not a king who rules with power and force. He leads with love, humility, and service.
  • God’s Kingdom is Eternal: Earthly rulers come and go, but Jesus’ kingdom will never end. His rule is one of peace and justice.
  • Salvation Through Jesus: The second reading reminds us that Jesus rescues us from sin. He brings us into his kingdom and makes us part of his family.
  • Mercy and Forgiveness: Jesus forgives the criminal on the cross. His kingdom is open to all who turn to him with faith.
  • Humility and Suffering: Jesus does not save himself from the cross. His suffering shows that true kingship is about sacrifice, not power.
  • Faith in Jesus: The good thief believed in Jesus even when others mocked him. His faith brought him the promise of eternal life.

10.  One Thing I Ask (Tirol). Best choice. There are all the elements of eschatology, as well as the good shepherd imagery, and even triumph.

33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - November 16, 2025

Please forgive us for not posting anything over the past two weeks. We were on academic break at that time, which meant no allowance. After that, Typhoons Tino and Uwan hit us, and we had no electricity in our area. We lost our phone too. We’re really sorry for that.

The 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C calls us to reflect on our actions and the end times. The readings remind us of the importance of staying faithful and diligent.

  • Judgment Day: Malachi speaks of a fierce day when the arrogant and wicked will be punished. This day will bring justice and healing for those who honor God.
  • Hard Work: In 2 Thessalonians, Paul emphasizes the value of hard work. He warns against idleness and encourages everyone to earn their keep.
  • Future Trials: Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple and describes future hardships. He speaks of wars, disasters, and persecution that followers will face.
  • Faithfulness in Persecution: Jesus promises to give wisdom to those who are persecuted for their faith. He assures them that they will be preserved if they endure these trials.

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - October 26, 2025

The readings for 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C focus on God’s mercy for the poor and the humble. In the first reading we are told that God hears those who cry out in pain. And the psalm echoes this sentiment. In the second reading Paul speaks of feeling deserted by all those around him, but the Lord stood by him. In the gospel Jesus tells the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector.

The themes for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C bring important lessons for our lives. They help us understand how to approach God and live faithfully.

  • God Hears the Humble: God listens closely to those who are humble and oppressed. In the first reading, we learn that God does not ignore their pleas; instead, He ensures justice for them.
  • Value of Humility: Humility is key to being right with God. The Gospel shows that self-righteousness is not the way to God’s heart, but humility and repentance are.
  • Faithfulness Rewarded: Staying true to God’s way leads to eternal rewards. In the second reading, even though others abandoned him, Paul is confident that God will bring him safely into His kingdom because of his faithfulness.
  • Strength in Trials: God provides strength in difficult times. Paul speaks about being deserted by friends but supported by the Lord, highlighting that God helps us through our trials.
  • Prayer from the Heart: Sincere prayer is more valued by God than boastful displays. The Gospel contrasts the prayers of two men, teaching us that a simple, heartfelt prayer is better than one filled with self-praise.

These themes for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C guide us on how to approach our relationship with God and with others. They encourage us to be humble, sincere, and steadfast in our faith.

27th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - October 5, 2025

The 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C offers us various lessons through its readings. Each reading provides insights into how we live and believe as Christians.

  • Living by Faith: The prophet Habakkuk questions God about the suffering he sees. God responds by telling him to wait for a vision that promises justice. This teaches us that faith involves trusting God’s timing and plan, even when we don’t understand.
  • Gift of the Spirit: In the second reading, Paul encourages Timothy to use the gifts God has given him. This reminds us that God equips us with spiritual gifts, and we should use them boldly and lovingly.
  • Power of Small Faith: Jesus mentions that faith as small as a mustard seed can do great things. It shows us that the size of our faith is less important than its true presence and action in our lives.
  • Duty and Service: The Gospel also compares faith to a servant doing his duty. It teaches us that following Jesus means serving without expecting rewards; our actions are part of our Christian duty.
  • Vision and Persistence: Habakkuk is told to write down a vision clearly. This tells us that having a clear vision and persistence in faith can guide us through challenges and uncertainties.
  • Courage in Witnessing: Paul’s words to Timothy highlight the need for courage in proclaiming our faith. This encourages us to be strong and persistent in sharing our belief with others.

These themes from the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C encourage us to reflect on our faith and duties as Christians. They guide us in living out our beliefs in practical and faithful ways.

26th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - September 28, 2025

The readings for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C call us to care about others. In the first reading we are warned against being complacent while others suffer. The psalm praises the justice of God. In the second reading Paul reminds us to pursue virtues. In the gospel Jesus tells the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, where a wealthy man ignored the needs of a poor man every day.
The readings for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C focus on themes of wealth, responsibility, and the afterlife. They challenge us to reflect on our own lives in light of eternal values.
  • Wealth and Complacency: The reading from Amos criticizes those who are comfortable and indifferent to the suffering around them. It shows that God sees and judges our indifference, especially when we ignore others’ needs while living in luxury.
  • Moral Integrity: Paul urges Timothy to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. This theme tells us that living a good life involves more than avoiding bad actions; it also requires actively cultivating virtues.
  • Eternal Consequences: The Gospel parable about Lazarus and the rich man illustrates that our actions have consequences beyond this life. It teaches us that how we treat others, especially those in need, influences our eternal destiny.
  • The Role of Scripture: The rich man learns that Moses and the prophets’ teachings are enough to guide us to live rightly. This emphasizes the importance of paying attention to Scripture as a guide for our lives.
  • Justice for the Poor: Both Amos and the Gospel highlight God’s concern for the poor and suffering. It reminds us that our faith calls us to help those who are less fortunate.
  • Ultimate Authority of God: Paul describes God as the only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. This reaffirms that all power and authority ultimately belong to God, and we are to live in a way that honors Him.
These themes from the readings of the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C invite us to examine our lives and align our actions with God’s expectations. They call us to live not just for today, but with an eye toward eternity.

24th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C - September 14, 2025 (Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross)

The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross remembers the Cross of Jesus. It has been celebrated by the Church for centuries. The feast began in the 4th century, when the True Cross was found by St. Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine. Tradition says she found the Cross in Jerusalem, where Jesus was crucified. This discovery made a deep impression on Christians and led to honoring the Cross in a special way.

The feast celebrates the Cross because it is the symbol of our faith. The Cross shows us how much Jesus loves us. He died on the Cross to save us from our sins. In Christian tradition, the Cross is a sign of hope, even though it was an instrument of death. It reminds us that Jesus turned suffering and death into victory and life.

We celebrate this feast on September 14. On this day in the year 335, the Church in Jerusalem dedicated a new church built on the site where Jesus died and rose from the dead. The church was built to honor both His crucifixion and His resurrection. Every year since then, the Church remembers this day and the power of the Cross.

The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a time to reflect on what the Cross means to us. It is more than a symbol. It is a reminder of God’s love and mercy. By celebrating this feast, we honor the victory Jesus won for us through His death and resurrection.
