Wednesday, 25 December
Mass during the Day
For your convenience, for the most part, I just fixed the dates and revised some details. This is almost the same as in previous years.
Important Ideas: God the Father and God the Son; the Word of God and the Son of God is/are one and the same

  • First Reading – Isaiah 52:7-10: The herald of good news brings peace and salvation, announcing to Zion, “Your God is King!” Sentinels cry out joyfully, witnessing the Lord’s restoration of Zion, and Jerusalem rejoices in God’s comforting redemption.
  • Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 98: A new song celebrates the Lord’s marvelous actions and victory. His salvation and justice are revealed to all nations, demonstrating His faithfulness to Israel and the world.
  • Second Reading – Hebrews 1:1-6: God, who once spoke through prophets, now speaks through His Son, the heir of all and creator of the universe, who purifies from sins and is exalted above the angels.
  • Gospel – John 1:1-18 or John 1:1-5, 9-14: In the beginning, the Word was with God and was God. Through Him, all things were made, and He brought life and light to humanity. John the Baptist testified about this light. The true light, Jesus, entered the world He created, unrecognized by many. The Word became flesh, revealing God’s glory, full of grace and truth, and through Jesus, grace and truth were fully manifested.

4th Sunday of Advent - Year C - December 22, 2024

Merry Christmas po sa lahat. Namamasko po 😊

The 4th Sunday of Advent Year C prepares us for the coming of Jesus. The readings highlight important themes for our reflection. Create your own line-up of songs by using these themes:
  • God’s Promise: God promises to send a ruler from Bethlehem. This promise shows God’s faithfulness.
  • Humble Beginnings: Jesus is born in Bethlehem, a small town. This shows that God often works through humble beginnings.
  • Obedience to God: Jesus came to do God’s will. He shows us the importance of obeying God.
  • Joyful Expectation: Mary visits Elizabeth, and they rejoice. This reminds us to be joyful as we wait for Jesus.
  • Blessed Among Women: Elizabeth calls Mary blessed. Mary is blessed because she believed God’s word.
  • Jesus’ Sacrifice: Jesus offers His body for our sins. This shows His great love for us.
Reflecting on these themes for the 4th Sunday of Advent Year C helps us understand the readings better. They guide us in our preparation for Christmas.

The 2nd Sunday of Advent Year C calls us to prepare for the coming of the Lord. The readings guide us to reflect on God’s promises and our own spiritual readiness. The following are the themes for you to create your own line-up of songs:
  • Preparation for the Lord: John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus. We are called to make our hearts ready for Christ’s coming.
  • God’s Promise of Salvation: Baruch speaks of God bringing His people back to Him. This reminds us that God always keeps His promises of salvation.
  • Call to Repentance: John the Baptist calls people to repent and be baptized. Repentance helps us clear the way for Jesus in our lives.
  • Joyful Expectation: Paul expresses joy in the Philippians’ faith and growth. Advent is a time of joyful waiting for Jesus.
  • Unity in Christ: Paul prays for the Philippians to grow in love and knowledge. We are encouraged to grow together in faith and love.
  • God’s Guidance: Baruch speaks of God leading His people with joy. God’s guidance is with us as we journey in faith.
These themes help us focus on the true meaning of Advent. As we prepare for Christmas, we are reminded of God’s love and our need for spiritual readiness.

Christ the King Sunday - Year B - November 24, 2024

Thanks for your love and support.

The Solemnity of Christ the King Year B reminds us of the kingship of Jesus and His authority over all. This feast invites us to reflect on Jesus’ role as our leader and savior. These are our theme for you to consider also what songs you need to add to your line-up:

  • Jesus as King: Jesus is the King who has all power and authority, as shown in Daniel 7:13-14. He rules over all nations and people forever.
  • Eternal Kingdom: Jesus’ kingdom is eternal, unlike earthly kingdoms. Revelation 1:5-8 tells us His rule will never end.
  • Truth of Jesus: Jesus came to bear witness to the truth, as He says in John 18:33B-37. His truth guides us and sets us free.
  • Jesus’ Sacrifice: Jesus, the faithful witness, loves us and freed us from sin by His blood (Revelation 1:5). His sacrifice shows His kingship through service.
  • Hope in Christ: The readings give us hope in Christ’s ultimate victory. His kingdom brings peace and justice.
  • Universal Reign: Jesus’ reign is for everyone, as seen in Daniel 7:14. His kingdom includes all people, nations, and languages.
  • Christ’s Witness: Jesus’ role as a witness to the truth is central in John 18:37. This shows His authority and purpose.
Reflecting on these themes helps us understand Jesus’ kingship and its importance in our lives. The Solemnity of Christ the King Year B calls us to recognize and honor Jesus as our King and Savior.

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - November 10, 2024

 Thanks for visiting our blog.
The 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B features readings that emphasize faith, sacrifice, and trust in God. These themes help us reflect on our relationship with God and others. From these themes below, you can create your own line-up of songs if you are familiar with the majority of songs of our church.
  • Trust in God’s plan: In 1 Kings 17:10-16, the widow trusts Elijah’s word from God and is blessed with food. This shows that trusting God’s plan brings blessings.
  • Generosity in poverty: The widow in Mark 12:38-44 gives all she has. Her generosity shows that true giving comes from the heart, not from excess.
  • Sacrifice: Hebrews 9:24-28 speaks about Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus’ offering of himself is the ultimate act of love and service.
  • Humility: Jesus criticizes the scribes in Mark 12:38-44 for their pride. Humility is important in our relationship with God and others.
  • Faith in God’s promises: The widow in 1 Kings 17:10-16 acts on faith. Believing in God’s promises leads to unexpected blessings.
  • Jesus as the mediator: Hebrews 9:24-28 describes Jesus as the mediator between God and humanity. This emphasizes the importance of Jesus in our salvation.
  • True wealth: The story of the widow’s mite in Mark 12:38-44 shows that true wealth is not measured by money. It’s about giving and trusting in God.
  • Obedience to God: Elijah asks the widow to make bread in 1 Kings 17:10-16, and she obeys. Her obedience leads to God providing for her needs.

31st Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B - November 3, 2024

Pasensya kung natagalan at nabusy sa school. Ang tema na nasa baba ay pwede po ninyong maging basehan upang makagawa kayo ng inyong sariling line-up ng kanta sa darating na linggo. You can practice also the songs of Hangad that I posted through a youtube video link. They are good and liturgical kasi alam kong may iba dito na belong sa mga parish na ang mga Parish priests are very sensitive in terms of songs kung liturgical ba talaga o hindi.

On the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, we reflect on key teachings from Deuteronomy, Hebrews, and the Gospel of Mark. These readings guide us in understanding love, obedience, and Jesus’ eternal priesthood.
  • Love of God: In Deuteronomy, we are commanded to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. This shows the importance of putting God first in our lives.
  • Obedience to Commandments: Deuteronomy also calls us to keep God’s commandments. Obeying these commandments brings us closer to God and guides our actions.
  • Jesus’ Eternal Priesthood: Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus is our eternal high priest. His priesthood is perfect and unchanging, unlike the priests of the old covenant.
  • Perfect Sacrifice: Jesus offers himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. This sacrifice is once and for all, showing his great love and mercy.
  • Greatest Commandments: In Mark, Jesus teaches that the greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbor. These two commandments summarize the entire law and the prophets.
  • Unity of Love and Law: Jesus’ teaching in Mark unites love and law. True love for God naturally leads to loving others and keeping God’s commandments.
Reflecting on these themes for the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B helps us grow in our faith and understanding. On the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B, we are reminded of God’s love and our call to love him and others.
